From Glory to Glory!

Categories: Bible Study,The Word

TEXT: 2 Cor. 3:13-18; Heb. 5:11-14

INTRODUCTION: There are three possibilities for any Christian who started the race to heaven very well. (i) S/He may backslide, (ii) S/He may stagnate and (iii) S/He may continue to improve daily till s/he becomes as perfect as her/his heavenly father. It is the third possibility that we wish to consider, that is, how to grow from glory to glory. May the Lord teach us Himself, in Jesus Name. Amen.

1. GOD EXPECTS US TO GROW CONTINUOUSLY.

1 Cor. 3:1-2; 1 Pet. 2:2; Eph. 4:14, Heb. 5:12; Job. 17: 9; Ps. 84: 7; 1 Cor. 14:20; Ps. 92:12; Prov. 4:18; 1 Tim. 4: 15; Heb.6:1.

Some Christians feed on milk, while others feed on solid meat. Milk is for the new-born babes and God does not expect us to be babes for ever. In fact, He expects us to grow and become teachers of others. Even those already holy are expected to go on to higher ground steadily and continuously. We are expected daily to grow higher, broader and deeper, while our light shines brighter and brighter.

2. GOD HAS HIS WAYS OF LEADING PEOPLE TO PERFECTION.

Is. 55:8; Gen. 37:6-8; 1 Cor. 10:23-24; 13:1-2; Gen. 37:11-20; Song. 8:6; 1 John 3:14; John 3:27; Gen. 39:1-7; Phil. 4:6-7; 1 Tim. 2:1-3; Pro. 29:2; Gen. 39: 7-20; 1 Cor. 6: 18; Gen. 39:13-20; 1 Pet. 2:20; 5:10; Act. 5:41; Rom. 8:17; Matt. 25: 23; Rom. 8:28.

By studying the life to Joseph, we can discover more of God’s Way of leading people to perfection. Joseph started by being gifted, but insensitive. God then put him under various authorities, first as a slave and then as a prisoner in order to train the Spiritual gifts in Him. This would thereby turn him to a perfect ruler. God can do the same for you today.

3. CONCLUSION.

It is important for us to know that the Lord expects us to keep on growing. The height, breadth and width of God are unsearchable. There is no limit to them. And because God is limitless, then the potential of how much we are able to grow in God is limitless. There are higher heights, and there are deeper depths. We are the determinants of how deep in God we want to grow.
